Data storage

All data collected by the era app will be stored on secure servers at the University of Edinburgh. Access to the data will be restricted to University of Edinburgh staff members on the era research team.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The app uses a Large Language Model (LLM) to provide many of its features. We are using an open source LLM, which is running on a secure server within the Edinburgh International Data Facility (EIDF). No user data is stored on this server, and EIDF bear no responsibility for the outputs of the LLM, which are displayed to the user in the era app.

We are using information about you because:

  • It is necessary to deliver the services provided by the era app
  • You have given us your consent for it to be used for the evaluation and development of the era app
